Eneloop technology
Eneloop technology was developed by Sanyo as a response to the disadvantages of typical rechargeable batteries. Rechargeable batteries lose charge over time, even when they're not being used - this property is called self-discharge - and for this reason, rechargeable batteries are typically not charged when you first buy them, preventing you from using them out of the box. The Eneloop battery has very low self-discharge and for this reason, they are charged and ready to use right out of the box, making them a good option for people who need batteries right away and also want the environmental advantages of rechargeable batteries.
