Onions contain enzymes that turn into irritating fumes when they make contact with the air. Experts agree that the most effective solution is to wear goggles or contact lenses.
These goggles are designed to provide a tight seal around the eyes of the wearer prevent fumes to get in. They look stylish, but how stylish can you really be while wearing onion goggles? They are available in black, white, and pink with one size fitting all. Onion Goggles are available for around $20.

#onion_goggles a friend of mine is a professional chef and had mentioned some really easy way to prevent yourself from crying... These would make a cool gift for the friend that has everything I suppose

#onion_goggles Eating bread? That's a new one that I haven't heard before. I actually like the crying that comes about from cutting onions. For whatever reason I don't really cry much, so cutting onions lets me give the ducts a good workout.

#onion_goggles there is also the method of eating bread while cutting onions or have a fan blowing air near you that can blow the onion odor/mist/juice whatever it is that is released when cutting them away from your face.

#onion_goggles I didn't know contact lenses are supposed to prevent your eyes from tearing up. I've worn my contacts and sliced onions at the same time and I was still crying.

#onion_goggles These are hilarious. Talk about specialized goggles. I wonder if they would work in other situations like 4-wheeling or skydiving. Or are these truly only limited to the few minutes each week that you cut onions?
