Like its counterpart, the Omega 2006 is essentially an upgrade from the original 8003/8005 models in that it hosts a more durable GE Ultem augar that is 8 times stronger than the auger on its predecessors. Plus the flip-up handle has been replaced by a built-in handle that’s easier to clean. Most notable though is the warranty, which has gone from 10 years to 15. Regardless, the 8006 too is designed for juicing in addition to mincing, grinding, chopping, extruding, etc. According to tests, the Omega can be used for anything—from making one’s own peanut butter to extruding pasta.
