It ditches certain features such as adjustable Spill-Catcher shelves, a BrightSeries lighting package, and a Glide-Out Freezer Drawer. Despite its lack of these features, the MBF2254H still includes numerous other useful elements such as a covered dairy compartment, a clear deli drawer, and pick-off gallon-plus door bins that can handle gallon-size milk jugs. In addition, the MBF2254H sports an automatic ice maker, a convenient swing-out freezer door, a slide-out wire basket, and a QuietSeries 100 (versus 200) sound silencing system that keeps the refrigerator running silently in the background. The Maytag MBF2254H retails for an extremely affordable $999.00 (versus >$1500) in white and comes with a 1 year limited warranty.
Note that the EneryStar qualification of this product is disputed. Canadian versions of this fridge do not have the EnergyStar logo on them, and as such they do not qualify for sales tax exemption in some provinces (such as Ontario).
