Maglite LED XL100
$49.99
Released January, 2011
The Pros:Very bright for a 1 LED light, compares well to all others in its class. Strobe is effective when signaling someone across the room. Some noticeable fade occurs when the batteries are getting low, gives you a bit of warning.
The Cons:Batteries get drained fairly quickly when used at full brightness. "beam focus" head is a little impractical, only makes a difference at the lowest setting. Feels slippery on the outside, and there's no eyelet to attach a lanyard to.

The unit is rugged thanks to the machined aluminum case. At 3.68 oz this flashlight is perfect for camping or as an emergency stand-by.
