Like the TX9000RF, the TX9000TS is Energy Star approved, and comes with a pre-programmed heating and cooling schedule that Lux promotes as saving you money and lowering your carbon footprint, should you choose to use it. However, the TX9000RF's schedule is promoted as saving you up to $500 on energy costs, whereas the TX9000TS's heating schedule is only promoted as saving you up to $180. The main difference between the two thermostats is the fact that the TX9000RF has a remote control and Speed Dial for quick programming of the thermostat, and the TX9000TS has a backlit touchscreen display and no Speed Dial. The Lux TX9000TS also has a touchscreen lockout code, so that you can stop unwanted tamperers from changing the temperature.
