Lux TX1500E

The Lux TX1500E is a lower mid-cost programmable thermostat. The display of this thermostat is blue EL (Electro Luminescent), which a step up from the closely related TX500E's plain display. You can program the TX1500E for five grouped days and two single days (5+1+1), with four time periods over the course of each day where you can set the temperature, using the Speed Dial to make it quick and easy.

This is different from the lower cost TX500E's 5+2 day programming, but the two thermostats still have much in common. The keyboard lockout feature of both thermostats allows you to keep unauthorized people from changing the temperature. Like many Lux thermostats, the TX1500E and TX500E are Energy Star approved and comes with a pre-programmed heating and cooling schedule that is promoted as saving you money on your energy bills (up to $180 for the TX1500E, up to $500 for the TX500E), should you choose to use it. The graphic filter usage monitor of both thermostats shows how much energy you are using, lets you know when to change the furnace filter, and allows you to set energy limits for periods of up to 365 days. The Lux TX1500E and TX500E are made for use with 24 VAC systems.
