Jerry Lamp
$135.00
Released January, 2006
The Pros:Durable lamp you can drop without breaking. Hook for hanging makes it convenient in different settings.
The Cons:Lacks portability because it's corded. Expensive.
The Jerry Lamp is a virtually indestructible lamp made from recycled silicone. Unlike a typical lamp, it can be dropped, kicked or tipped over without any concern. The rubber-like exterior protects the bulb, accounting for the robust build.

The Jerry Lamp also features a hook at the top (made from the same silicone material) which allows the lamp to be hung from different items such as a bookcase, table or headboard. The light bulb is easily replaced through the opening at the bottom. Dimensions: height - 10.6 inches x width - 6.5 inches x depth - 5.5 inches. Comes in orange, white, blue, yellow and green.
The Jerry Lamp was designed by Luca Nichetto in collaboration with Carlo Tinti for Casamania by Frezza in 2006. It was selected as one of the products to be exhibited at the 2007 Milan Triennial New Italian Design show.

Amanie:
#jerry_lamp This is really similar to a lantern and while I appreciate the robust design, I think it's way too expensive to justify. If it was portable I might reconsider.
