IKEA Mandal Bed
$349.00
Released January, 2009
The Pros:Gives you the option to use a headboard. Built-in storage adds to the functionality. Can match the bed frame to rest of the Mandal line of bedroom furniture.
The Cons:Mattress can move around (doesn't hold it in place). Cardboard bases of storage compartments cannot support heavier clothes (jeans) and will arch to promote drawer jamming.
The IKEA Mandal Bed is a bed frame with draws that lies in the MANDAL line of IKEA furniture. It can be used with or without an IKEA Mandal headboard. The Mandal frame comes in full/double or queen sizes.
Underneath the bed board there are four large draws that can be used to store anything from bedlinens and pillows, to toys and games. As is the case with most IKEA furniture, the Mandal bedframe coordinates well with other furniture in the Mandal series, such as the four drawer chest and six drawer dresser, in additional to the wall-mounted Mandal headboard. The bedframe is made out of solid birch wood with a clear acrylic lacquer. The bed midbeam and slatted pine bed board are included. The Mandal bed was designed by Nike Karlsson.
