Honeywell RTH7600D

$100.00 Released September, 2008

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Installation is very simple, anyone comfortable with tools can handle it. Holds the temperature very constant, never gets more than a degree off. Programming is reasonably straight-forward, not much to it.

The Cons:Advanced functions are a little tricky to access, slightly counter-intuitive and you need to refer to your manual. Not many options for mounting the wall plate, could use a few more pre-drilled holes.

The Honeywell RTH7600D is a basic programmable thermostat for the average home user. This is similar to the Honeywell RTH7500D, but has a larger 6-5/8 sq in backlit display and works through a touchscreen interface, eliminating the external buttons and making it easier to use.

A full schedule for what temperature the house should be kept at can be programmed in for every day of the week, and Smart Response Technology manages both the heating and cooling systems to ensure that the house reaches target temperatures at the right time. Up to 33 percent of annual heating and cooling costs can be saved this way. While this thermostat is compatible with most systems, electric baseboard heating won't work here. Home owners are encouraged to install the unit themselves, and it comes with a 1-year warranty.
