The Breville Die-Cast 4-Slice Smart Toaster BTA840XL is a mechanized 4-slice toaster built to automate and control food toasting. This is the same as the Breville Die-Cast 2-Slice Smart Toaster BTA820XL, with the only difference being 4 slots instead of 2.

The toaster's functions are accessed through buttons along the top, allowing for controlled lowering of food items into the slots for gentler handling. Extra toasting of an item can be started with the "A Bit More" button, and the "Auto Lift and Look" button enables the user to check on the toasting progress. The extra-wide slots can handle toast, bagels and pastries, and the crumb tray pulls out at the front.
